Web archives, preserving historical websites for posterity, can be quite complex to navigate. They contain Terabytes or even Petabytes of data, and numerous versions of historical pages. After immersing myself into collection visualizations in the Visual Navigation Project , I decided to apply what I learned to web archives. I created six browsable visualizations for the National Library of the Netherlands’ web archive using D3.js and presented these on a national study day about web archives at the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision.
